Cherry trees in blossom, birds happily singing even late at night, tulips blooming around – nature finally opened wide its sleepy eyes unfolding all the spring colors for us.
Inspired by the lustrous petals and aroma of flowering trees, I knew the It Purse of April had to BE Dior!
“And he was seldom out of sight of the new bridges, which had married beautiful womanly Brooklyn to her rich uncle, Manhattan; had put the city’s hand out to the country; and were the end of the past because they spanned not only distance and deep water but dreams and time.”
Winter’s Tale, Mark Helprin
And that’s where my Winter’s Tale brought me: to the foot of Brooklyn Bridge – the colossal construction of steel with monumental columns made of limestone, granite and cement that became an imposing symbol of the power of technology and optimism of the time. Today, embodying the grandiose spirit of New York City, this transcendent architectural marvel still attracts thousands of people every day. Prodigious in the eyes of its first admirers, it transgresses the time and astounds the hearts of crowds today, and no doubt, it will still impress the ones that come after.
“They’re not just dreams. Not anymore, I dream more than I wake now, and, at times, I have crossed over. Can’t you see? I’ve been there.”
Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin.
I dreamed about the perfect blizzard to come over New York City, the one that transfigures scenery and redesigns the landscape; the mesmerizing snow storm that slows time down and takes you into the realm of pure winter wonderland, where snow incessantly falls with soft, sparkling, shooting star flakes that resemble comet’s tail when captured in the fall, before they kiss the puffy clouds you walk on.

This month, 13th turned out to be Friday and, although it could have been unlucky for some, Cinderella certainly can’t complain hitting $23 million on its premiere day, becoming Disney’s biggest 2D PG-rated opening of all time.
The story of the girl from the woods continues… (If you haven’t read Chapter I, you might wish to do so first.)
It was a promising fall day in the North Woods when the girl woke up. She opened her eyes and saw a gold light reflected on the ceiling of her room. She smiled. The eastern breeze made the ironwood trees slowly drop their golden leaves. The girl knew that if she had wanted to find the Magnificent Kingdom that day, she couldn’t waste a minute and let the sun surprise her at dusk.
Are you wondering if your striped dress, blouse or bikini will still be on the menu this spring/summer 2015? No worries! Fashion designers once again serve us a platter of mix stripes of all colors and directions that, put together in an unexpected way, will become a real sensation this upcoming season. But did you know that wearing stripes had once been a perilous venture?
Last Saturday, I attended Angela & Roi Trunk Show in Soho where I had a great pleasure to meet the designer Angela and talk about her unique collection of handbags and “Donate by Color” movement that the brand advocates.
Single or multicolor, vertical or horizontal – stripes of all types and combinations cross the streets and walk the runways with a real dazzle of bold lines and contrasting colors that dizzy yet draw the astonished eye. Among all of them, zebra stripes strike with a transfixing color duet that performs a mind-blowing act of pure sophistication and refined elegance spiced with a dash of exotic vibe.
