There it is, the It Purse of January 2015: Valentino Rockstud Chevron Shoulder Bag.

With this stunner, I start what seems a natural and obvious section of my blog: “It Purse of the Month“. Each month, I will come up with my “It Purse” pick and present it in a short article to share with you my current fixation.

January belongs to Valentino Garavani and his mind-blowing shoulder bag in dazzling rainbow colors. How not to be obsessed?!

Classy structured shape, deluxe grained calfskin leather, sophisticated details and color explosion hold all the answers for “what’s your next bag crush?” The signature gleaming platinum pyramid studs and beautiful logo-etched pinch-lock closure make for a glam with an edge. The detachable braided chain shoulder strap that loops through two top rings can be worn two ways so that the shoulder bag becomes your “close-body” friend in the blink of an eye.

But what truly sets my heart on a roller coaster is this resplendent chevron inspired pattern and splash of rainbow hues that almost looks like an abstract artwork taken from one of the walls at the Met. Graphically arresting and visually captivating, this brilliant mix of chevron lines and horizontal stripes is worth a sin! On a cloudy January afternoon, it’s like a sudden dose of vitamin D (or rather V for Valentino) that puts a smile on your face and keeps you happy for the rest of the grey days.

If I was to pick my favorite here, I would go with Alice + Olivia Clyde Print Stretch Cotton dress that is a cubist artwork: you need to look twice! Looking at the color range in my closet, I see a massive storm of hues but the one that is definitely in a shortage is orange. I desperately need this Bec & Bridge dress. Besides, I am in love with the asymmetry. For that reason, my second choice would be this red Michael Kors dress with studs being an extra match to the Valentino bag.  And, what color would be yours?

I would be happy to slip my feet into the Steve Madden yellow heels to go with my pick of the Alice + Olivia ‘Clyde’ Print Stretch Cotton dress. Yellow is one of the vivid strokes on the dress and one of the stripe colors of the Valentino shoulder bag.

The Lilly Pulitzer Kat Kitten heels would be a playful contrast for the Bec & Bridge orange dress and they would also complement the blue hue of the purse. Notice how Valentino put blue and orange lines close together on the handbag!

The possibilities are really endless here and once again, it’s worth to go through the boxes of shoes in your closet because you probably already have a great match out there. If not, invest in a bright color that you don’t own yet or a striking black & white striped pattern that will pair well not only with any of these outfits here but also the ones to come after them.
